FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1.
How long will it take to complete the project?
The time it takes to complete the project depends on the
complexity and size of the project. I will give you an
estimation of the time frame of the project at the on-site
consultation.
2.
What type of paint do you use?
I
use water-based, non-toxic acrylic paint. The paints have no
odor and usually dry within three hours. So, children can sleep
in their newly decorated room that night. In fact, many
children sit with me while I paint their rooms
3.
What types of designs can you paint?
I
like to say that I can paint anything from a photograph or
print. I have matched nursery bedding, painted wildlife from a
magazine photo, painted Steelers players from a picture and
mimicked a pattern in a rug. For the most part, anything you
throw my way, can be done. I promise to work with you to get it
as close as possible.
4. Can you paint on canvas?
Yes. If you would like a canvas painted with your ideas instead
of the wall, it can be done. This process allows you to move
the artwork from room to room and from house to house. Pricing
is formulated the same way, but there is an added cost for the
price of the canvas.
5.
Do you do anything else besides murals?
Yes, I hand-paint furniture and crafts as well. I have been
commissioned to customize furniture in the past, but primarily I
repair and paint “found” furniture that I pick up at local
sales. I then sale these items at local shows and galleries.
6. Can you do exterior work?
I
have done exterior work in the past, but it depends on the
location of the work and the amount of weathering the piece is
going to receive. My primary focus is on interior projects.
7, What hours do you work?
I
understand that life just seems to get busier and busier.
Therefore, I try to be as accommodating as possible. We can
look at our schedules at the first consultation.
8. Do you offer any gift certificates or special offers?
Yes, I do offer gift certificates beginning at $50 and
increasing in $50 increments. The gift certificates are great
for baby showers, bridal showers, and birthdays. As for special
offers, if you refer a friend that books me for a project, you
will receive a 15% discount on your next project.
9. How do I clean the painting/mural?
You can clean the painted surface with a mild
soap and water. Dampen a cloth and lightly wipe the painting.
If you have the painting in an area that will receive a lot of
abuse/weathering, I may recommend applying a clear coat on the
finished painted surface. A good example of an area that may
need a clear coat application would be in a restaurant where
grease and smoke residue may collect. Another possible area
that may need a sealer applied would be in a daycare or nursary
school where children may enjoy applying their own artwork to
the wall. A clear coat would protect the painted surface and
allow for an easier cleanup.
